This photo must have been taken within 30 mins of me finishing Trans Wales, after I had quickly eaten/showered and then grabbed the Kangaroo to watch everyone else finish. I am standing at the bottom of the downhill section of the last time section of the event, and this corner (right in front) was catching most riders out. It was slippery, and around 40% of riders were crashing.
Soon, this corner was a hive of activity, with loads of people standing/cheering and the odd rider getting a bright yellow kangaroo thrust towards them. Some riders were warned of the slippery corner, other were yelled at to 'get off of the brakes', but above all everyone was cheered on in some form.
To me, this is mountain biking, and this is our community. Not only do we race/ride alongside each other, but we cheer each other on as well. We ride the courses, and we watch others ride the course, we stand in the rain/cold and we all have a story to tell at the end.
In-fact, MTB riding becomes the best source of stories, be it in an amazing trail, a singletrack horror story, or an epic ride that you 'nearly' didn't finish.

Long live singletrack......
Rhino, Kangaroo and Marnie!!!

Glad you and the 'family' liked the shot! That corner for a half hour period was one of the best parts of the entire race for me :)
